Work groups: The basis for our international network

Our work groups have a regional, expert or sector-specific focus. While regional work groups cover a broad range of topics, expert work groups concentrate on specific areas of controlling and sector work groups on the specific requirements of individual sectors of the economy. The knowledge gained is documented and made available to the entire ICV network in publications. This creates a targeted transfer of knowledge that promotes exchange within the community.

Work groups in the ICV

The most important information

What are work groups in the ICV?

The work groups of the International Association of Controllers are organized by region or by content (subject-specific or sector-specific). At least two work group meetings are held each year, in which the focus is on the joint development of practical solutions and the exchange of experiences between participants.

  • If you are interested in joining one of our work groups, please contact the head of the work group directly. You can find the contact details on the respective work group page.
  • If you would like to set up a work group or take over an existing one whose leadership is vacant, please contact the ICV Office directly: verein@icv-controlling.com.

We look forward to your participation!

What are expert work groups in the ICV?

In contrast to the ICV regionally oriented work groups, the expert work groups are dedicated to specific subject areas.

The aim of each expert work group is to summarize the knowledge gained in publications so that all controllers in the ICV network can take advantage from their findings.

As a rule, there are face-to-face meetings twice a year, which are supplemented by digital meetings. This allows participation “without borders”, to which we cordially invite you!

What are sector work groups in the ICV?

The sector-related work groups are the meeting place for controllers from a specific industry.

Industry-focused content ensures that know-how relevant to the specific sector is developed and shared.

Do you have the time and desire to go deeper in controlling for your industry, together with colleagues who share your working environment? You are welcome to join us!

Insights into practice

Constant work in the far north

Doris Mailänder and Christoph Bückle from the ICV oldest work group, the Work Group Nord-Elbe-Eider (formerly the Work Group North I), speak to Peter Bluhm from atvisio.TV on behalf of many work groups. They talk about the main areas of focus in their committee and how cooperation has changed, particularly as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

Gaining digital expertise in controlling

Alexander Hein, Head of the Expert Work Group Digital Controlling Competence founded in 2021, explains the work of his expert work group to Peter Bluhm from atvisio.TV. The focus is on data availability, processes, systems and analysis options, but above all on the requirements for controllers. The expert work group focuses on a mixture of theory and practice and provides support with specific recommendations for action.

Focus on sustainability for years

Sustainable corporate management with a focus on social and ecological goals has become increasingly important since the European Green Deal, sustainable finance, EU taxonomy and CSR directives. The Expert Work Group Green Controlling for Responsible Business has been dealing with sustainability and how it influences the practice of corporate management and work in controlling for many years. Dr. Marco Möhrer, the former Head of the Expert Work Group, reports on this in an interview with Peter Bluhm from ativiso.TV.
