Welcome to the ICV Sector Work Group Energy + Water
The fundamental change in the energy industry began with the liberalization of the electricity and gas markets at the end of the 1990s. The unbundling of grid operators and the opening up of the market to third parties, suppliers and plant operators led to far-reaching structural changes in energy companies. At the same time, a large number of new business models emerged, presenting controllers with demanding tasks and challenges.
The developments do not stop: Nuclear phase-out, coal phase-out, digitalization, energy transition 4.0 and decarbonization. Business models that promised success yesterday are being overtaken by new requirements or legal regulations. Controllers in the energy and water industry need a wide range of methods, skills, processes and tools in order to survive in this dynamic environment.
The Work Group thrives on the active participation of its members and the open exchange on all relevant topics. Become part of our network and benefit from a unique community that shares knowledge and learns from each other.
In order to meet the special requirements of this sector, the ICV founded the Sector Work Group in 2000 together with experienced experts from the German energy industry under the leadership of Ulrich Dorprigter.
The Work Group offers a platform for professional and personal exchange. Members from the energy and water industry meet here to discuss current developments, specific controlling topics and the challenges facing their companies.
Our activities:
- Presentations and discussions: Members introduce topics that are topical in their companies and discuss them with colleagues.
- Plant tours: Plants, power stations and businesses are visited to gain practical insights.
- Networking: Evening events offer the opportunity to make personal contacts and exchange valuable experiences and tips.
