The ICV – Péter Horváth Controlling Dissertation Award

Every year, the ICV – Péter Horváth Controlling Dissertation Award is given to an outstanding business dissertation from a German-speaking country. With this Award, we, the International Association of Controllers and the Péter Horváth Foundation, send a strong signal for excellent research and promote the close integration of science and practice in controlling.

About the Award

An Award for excellence in controlling research

Jury from science and practice

The best dissertation is selected by a high-caliber Jury. This is made up of renowned controlling professors and experienced experts from corporate practice. After a thorough assessment, the Award is given to a thesis that meets the highest scientific and practical standards.

Endowment and Award

The Award is endowed with 10,000 euros and recognizes innovative research approaches that create significant added value in both theory and practice. The Award-winning works are characterized by a clear application reference and at the same time contribute to the further scientific development of controlling.

How to apply

The Award will be presented to an application-oriented dissertation that has been awarded at least the grade “magna cum laude” and was completed no earlier than 2024. Please submit the documents by June 15, 2026 by e-mail to dissertation-preis@icv-controlling.com.
