The stage-gate process is a proven model for optimizing innovation and development processes in companies. Developed by Robert G. Cooper and Scott J. Edgett, this process divides product development into clearly defined phases (stages) and decision points (gates).
At the end of each phase, the project is evaluated by an interdisciplinary team to determine the next steps: Continue, stop or revise the project. This structure allows risks to be minimized and resources to be used more efficiently.
