The future of controlling: focus on standardization and automation
This article presents the results of a survey conducted during the ICV webinar on the future of controlling. The aim of the study was to determine the current status of standardization, automation and use of shared service centers (SSC) in controlling processes as well as expectations for the next five years.
The survey shows that processes such as planning, budgeting and forecasting, cost accounting and management reporting are already highly standardized today. Managers’ expectations indicate that even greater automation and support from controlling teams is required in order to develop effective business models.
These changes are due to the digitalization of financial processes and offer new opportunities for companies to increase their efficiency.
