The ICV bids farewell to Siegfried Gänßlen

Former ICV Chairman of the Board passes away at the age of 79

It is with deep sadness that we bid farewell to Siegfried Gänßlen, who shaped the International Controller Association in an extraordinary way for more than four decades.

He was closely associated with the ICV for over 40 years – including 20 years as a member of the Executive Board, twelve years as Chairman of the Executive Board and five years as a member of the ICV Board of Trustees.

As a founding member of numerous specialist and working groups and as a long-standing source of ideas and initiator of the ICV Ideas Workshop, he has provided decisive impetus for the further technical and strategic development of the ICV and controlling.

His extraordinary voluntary commitment to the ICV, which he carried out with great passion, discipline and persuasiveness alongside his extensive professional duties as CEO of Hansgrohe SE, deserves special mention. He put his heart and soul into the Congress of Controllers: even in difficult economic times, he led this event for the controlling community with great professionalism and vision and developed it into a consistently very successful annual highlight.

Siggi was far more than just a functionary for us. He was a role model, a source of inspiration and a person who carried others along and inspired them. His death leaves a painful gap in the ICV – both professionally and personally.

At the same time, we are filled with great gratitude that we were able to have him with us for so many years in his private and professional personality.

We would like to thank Siggi for his loyalty, his clarity and his tireless work for the ICV. We will miss him and will always honor his memory.

With deep sorrow and sincere sympathy, our thoughts are with Christine and his family.
