Fall meeting of the ICV Work Group Heilbronn-Künzelsau

IPAI SPACES made it possible for our Heilbronn-Künzelsau working group to hold our fall conference on their premises. IPAI SPACES is the “Global Home of AI” in Baden-Württemberg. With the support of the Dieter Schwarz Foundation and the state, the largest AI center in Baden-Württemberg is being built in Heilbronn. In the first stage of expansion, the building will house offices for administration, information and testing facilities for AI as well as laboratories for companies. Several well-known companies from the region already have laboratories here and are working intensively with AI.

Ms. Franziska Kirchert gave the participants of the work group a tour of the premises and provided valuable information. A completely new AI center with ultra-modern buildings for scientists, practitioners and interested parties will be built in Heilbronn by 2030. It is intended to serve science, the exchange of experience and information and to promote progress.

In his inspiring and entertaining presentation, Prof. Dr. Ludwig Hierl explained the importance of AI at the university, both for academics in the transfer of knowledge and for students in the acquisition of knowledge in the disciplines of accounting and controlling. For example, students can use AI to prepare for exams better and faster, which can lead to better exam results.He presented the Bolt tool, the genius.de platform and other AI approaches.Based on his many practical examples, there was lively interaction with the participants.Many companies, even those that are well positioned and not affected by the current crisis, are still in their infancy with AI applications.

Conclusion: The participants took away many inspired insights from the conference and agreed that the exchange between practice and science on this basis can be very valuable. AI provides support so that people can free themselves from certain daily tasks and focus more on strategic issues. People are only replaced to a limited extent. AI is a tool to generate knowledge and applications more quickly and thus also to strengthen the competitiveness of companies, especially in global competition.German fear is not appropriate!
