AI in Practice

From Vision to Real Business Value

As strategy cycles grow shorter in the age of AI, one question becomes critical: Is the organization actually capable of executing the strategy it sets? In this joint session, Aleš Štempihar (Askit) and Matej Petrovčič (CRMT) bridge the gap between strategic vision and day-to-day practice. The first part shows how management control serves as a guide for strategic alignment and how AI ambitions translate into measurable value. The second part focuses on practical application, featuring a live demonstration using real business data and a digital co-worker that takes over repetitive tasks.

Speaker

Aleš Štempihar

Aleš Štempihar is the CEO of Askit d.o.o. and the author of the AI VaaS™ (AI Value as a Service) methodology. With more than 25 years of experience and having worked with over 100 members of management boards, he is an expert in strategic transformation in the age of AI. He views controlling as management’s right hand—not only in executing strategy, but also in shaping it from the outset. His work focuses on aligning AI ambitions with business strategy and on the controller’s role as a navigator of strategic alignment, helping organizations turn AI into measurable business value.

Matej Petrovčič

Matej Petrovčič is the co-founder and CEO of CRMT, a leading Slovenian consulting firm specializing in business analytics, controlling, data management, and corporate performance management (CPM). With more than 20 years of experience in business intelligence, he now focuses on the practical application of artificial intelligence in finance and controlling. He leads projects that implement AI agents for reporting, data analysis, and the automation of routine tasks, with a particular emphasis on data governance and the semantic layer as the foundation for trustworthy enterprise AI.
