ENG: Focus on Slovenia as a business location
Slovenia takes over the EU Council Presidency: ICV focuses on the business location
July 22, 2021
(Wörthsee, July 2021) On July 1, 2021 Slovenia took over the EU Council Presidency as the last member of the trio presidency with Germany and Portugal. For the second time since 2008, the country between the Mediterranean and the Alps is setting priorities in this function in the international community. The International Association of Controllers (ICV) sees this as an opportunity to focus on the business and working world as well as the controlling of Slovenia.
With this, the ICV also honors the work of its members on site. With the establishment of the ICV Work Group Slovenia in March 2007, the foundation stone was laid for dissemination of understanding of controlling according to the controller’s mission statement of the ICV and the IGC (International Group of Controlling) in Central Europe - three years after Slovenia became the first country from the former multi-ethnic state Yugoslavia that joined the European Union.
The special page Slovenia on the ICV website is dedicated to the history and work of the ICV on site with an interview with the founder of the ICV work group Slovenia, Dragica Erčulj. In addition, readers get an insight into the world of work at MAHLE. For the internationally leading development partner and supplier to the automotive industry, headquartered in Stuttgart, Germany, Slovenia has been "important focal point of electronics and mechatronics activities since 2014". This is what Jan-Frederek Thiele, Vice President Corporate Controlling of MAHLE International GmbH, and Benjamin Hödl, Director Controlling Business Unit Mechatronics and Electronics, report in an interview with Annegret Glöckner, Executive Advisor for the Corporate Members in the ICV.
You can find the interviews as well as a large number of interesting data, facts, statistics and contact addresses about Slovenia as the ICV focus country 2021/2022 on the ICV website (icv-controlling.com) under Association > Specials. The aim of the ICV is to give its members and readers valuable insights into the business location, which is still little known to many, and to encourage discussions and the exchange of experiences in the ICV social media channels.
