With the Health Care Conference, the International Association of Controllers eV / ICV Switzerland, together with our cooperation partner, the University of Applied Sciences Northwestern Switzerland FHNW, offers various interest groups such as service providers, insurers, manufacturers and service providers a platform for the targeted exchange of experience and at the same time serves to maintain networks. Controllers, those responsible for finance and controlling, CFOs, project managers, business analysts from all sectors and executives in the health care sector are addressed.

Financial sustainability in uncertain times for the Swiss health care sector

This was the motto of the Controlling Health Care Conference Switzerland 2024 that took place in St. Gallen. An exciting and insightful event, where those responsible for finance and other decision-makers from Swiss health care organizations could meet again this year.

The financial situation of hospitals and health care organizations is extremely tense; Necessary investments fall by the wayside, making the desired progress in innovation and digitalization more difficult. If you ask about the causes of the current crisis, rising interest rates, energy costs and - unsurprisingly in times of a shortage of skilled workers - personnel costs are mentioned in many places. These and other current topics are taken up in presentations, break-out sessions and the panel discussion and shown in context of hospital closures, cost savings or concepts such as Lean Hospital, that financial stability can only be achieved in the medium term through greater digitalization and innovation. How Swiss health care organizations deal with this challenge is the focus of this conference.
