| | Insolvency Risk and Rating are Systematically Ignored | | | In a remarkable essay, Prof. Dr. Werner Gleißner and Prof. Dr. Ottmar Schneck show the importance and lack of contextual mediation of the insolvency risk in corporate planning. Their conclusion „Theory, methods and practice of rating have thus, in a sense, developed in a niche of business administration and a link to other subject areas has never been established.“ | | | | | | Award for graduates in Berlin, Stockholm and Munich | | | The ICV Newcomer Award 2020 was given on Nov. 7th at the CIB2020 to Jesper Juul from the University of Economics and Law for the master thesis “The application of performance metrics in earn-out provisions”. Third place went to Manuel Mandl, TU Munich. | | | | | | Research project – we’re looking for exchange of ideas | | | With the keynote on "Success controlling with mathematical modeling in local public transport using the example of the Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe AöR", Prof. Dr. Robert Knappe and Jonas Krembsler from the School of Economics and Law Berlin opened the CIB 2020. They presented an important research project for controlling practice. One of the partners is the ICV work group Berlin-Brandenburg. Controlling is being further developed in the direction of predictive analytics. The project will run for another two years. Prof. Knappe invites interested parties to an exchange of practical experience. | | | | | | Online team work in the International Work Group | | | The ICV International Work Group has existed for five years and meets twice a year in a different European country to collect ideas for a company and to give suggestions for better controlling and management. In 2020, when visits to the Serbian fashion manufacturer PS fashion were planned, all meetings had to be canceled due to corona. But the work group didn’t give up and met online every 14 days to exchange ideas, discuss, argue and prepare a first presentation for each of four selected topics to work on. | | | | | | | | | | Corona crisis hits controllers comparatively hard | | | Social distancing, lockdown, home office, video conferences instead of business trips, new technologies, hybrid working. With this summary, the personnel service provider Robert Half, Frankfurt am Main, introduces its comprehensive preview “Salary overview 2021”. In addition to general trends, it deals in particular with the areas of business, IT, finance and accounting. | | | | | | CCS & CIS 2020: Two leading events await your visit! | | | Two real highlights for the controlling community are on the agenda at the end of November (both in German): the CCS Controlling Competence Stuttgart on November 26, and the CIS Controlling Insights Steyr on November 27. - Please inform yourself about the top-class programs and take advantage of the opportunity to register at the last minute! | | | | | | "Measuring" the effects of economic activity | | | All ICV members can download the new white paper (in German) “The role of impact measurement in integrated corporate management – guidelines and recommendations for action for the implementation of a new strategic management tool” presented by the ICV expert work group “Green Controlling for Responsible Business” in September.
