| The application (documents also in English) deadline for the ICV Controlling Excellence Award 2019 runs until January 31. Then the Jury, headed by Prof. Dr. Jürgen Weber, Chairman of the ICV Board of Trustees, initially selects three candidates, who will be introduced to the community. The ultimate winner is announced at the Europe's largest controlling conference in 2019, the 44th Controller Congress. There, the winner presents their solution in plenary. | |

| | | | | | | | | | IMA updates the exam to accommodate changes in accounting and finance | |
| The updates to the exam are being made to ensure the CMA remains relevant in the ever-evolving environment of the management accounting profession. ICMA found an increased need to include the impact of technology on the profession on the exam, and as a result, 15 percent of Part 1 will feature a “Technology and Analytics” section. The updated exam will continue to be two parts, with each part containing 100 multiple-choice questions and two essays. The changes will be effective January 1, 2020. |

| The head of the ICV Think Tank, Prof. Dr. Ronald Gleich, former Managing Director of the Horváth Akademie, has taken on a new role as founding dean of the new faculty "Executive School" of the EBS University of Economics and Law. Thomas Listl has been appointed Managing Director of the Horváth Akademie. As of April 2019, Sascha Lindner will assist him as the second managing director. |

| Last year at the General Meeting a new ICV Chairman was announced: standing ovations for the now former ICV Chairman Siegfried Gänßlen, after he informed the participants that the Executive Board, at his suggestion, would welcome Prof. Dr. Heimo Losbichler elected as successor to the honorary post of ICV Chairman. What does the General Meeting bring this year? There will be for sure discussions about further development. All members are invited to Munich on May 12 (the evening before the Congress of Controllers). |

| The 12th edition of the Controlling Intelligence Adventure (CIA 2018) just ended last December, and the organizers already started planning the next edition: this year the international controlling conference takes place on May 27-28, 2019 in Warsaw. Topic: Controlling in digital business models. After a great success of the CIA 2018, the organizers, led by Dr. Tomasz M. Zieliński, Executive Director at the ICV POLAND, hope to see even more Polish and international guests. For all foreign controllers: all speeches in or translated into English! |
